Outreach Talks from the Friends of the Willis Museum
The Friends of the Willis can provide a speaker on the topics listed below. A voluntary donation to the Association is requested to assist with its objective of supporting and helping to improve the museum. Travelling expenses are not charged within short distances of Basingstoke. For further information please contact us.

Know your Museum
An introduction to the Willis Museum mainly for local people who would like to know it better. This is a PowerPoint presentation requiring the use of a data projector.
Topics covered include visitor information, the history of the museum and its building, the “Story of Basingstoke exhibition” and some key exhibits, the high-profile special exhibitions, help with historical enquiries, the shop and café, how the museum is organised, and plans for the future.

Readings from a miscellany of interesting items in the Willis’s archives collection with an accompanying commentary.
Several talks of this kind are available. Ask for outlines and make your choice. For places near Basingstoke but outside the town itself, we can often include something of special interest about your own area. No equipment is needed for these talks.
